lives at a crossroads
with a wheelbarrow and no one to bray at

I met Bounty the donkey
when I passed through the crossroads
an he touched my heart with his lovely eyes

“Oh, Bounty the donkey
why do you live alone at the crossroads?”
“I´m to old
and it´s an important fact”

“Oh, Bounty the donkey
I think i love you
your eyes, reflect you´re wise
you look so smart”

I asked my parents
if I could marry the donkey
they said “are you crazy
you are mad”

“Why can´t Bounty the donkey
be my husband?”
“he´s old, without a job
and makes people laugh”

I advised Bounty
to find a good job
“my parents would like you
to work in a bank”

After asking
in every firm of the city
Bounty said
“they don´t want me, I´m old and I smell bad”

“Oh, pretty Bounty
I´m afraid my parents
won´t let me marry you
and I do what they command”

“So Bounty my honey
I have to leave you
it´s been nice to meet you, my darling

Years have passed by
and I still remember
Bounty the donkey
and his wise eyes

I don´t understand
if donkeys will become extint
why they don´t let them live
not just tied to a post eating grass

Poor Bounty the donkey
still living at the crossrads with his wheelbarrow
